Hi you!
Today, I’m joining Simon Says Stamp for the last time as the Designer in the Spotlight of the SSS Wednesday Challenge. I absolutely loved it! Thanks to everyone at Simon Says Stamp for this wonderful opportunity! I hope this can be the start of a wonderful friendship! 🙂
I hope you’ll be inspired by my work! Now let’s get crafty…
This week’s theme is ‘Anything Goes’. The card I made features my first underwater scene I’ve ever created.
I die cut a panel out of some Neenah paper and ink blended a background with the Distress Oxides Cracked Pistachio, Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire. To give the illusion that there is light shining from above, I took the MFT stencil – Ray of Light and ink blended Cracked Pistachio over the top. It didn’t give quite the result I wanted, so I went over it with Hero Arts – white Unicorn ink. After that, I removed my stencil and splattered some water droplets on top of the panel.
I stamped my images (Mama Elephant – Little Mermaiden Agenda) in Versafine onyx Black ink. This is my go to ink for watercoloring AND sentiments!
To color in the images, I used my Zigs and the blender. The colors I used: Yellow, Red, Turquoise Green, Cobalt Blue, Flesh Color, Violet, Dark Pink, Dark Brown
I stamped my sentiments from the Mama Elephant – Occasional Labels.
Everything is now ready to assemble. I put the background on a card base and placed my sentiment strips in the middle of the panel with Darice foam strips. I arranged my mermaids around it. To finish it off, I adhered a few sequins from Darice (iridescent). This gives the card a more finished look.
I hope I gave you some inspiration to make someone’s heart happy.
Love, Jarle x
